The Grocer is on my reading list every week, so I'll admit we're already fans. Run by one of the UK's leading trade titles for the grocery and FMCG industry, the awards celebrate the standout new product launches shaping supermarket shelves. Entries span everything from yoghurts, snacks and confectionery through to household and personal care, judged on taste, innovation and consumer appeal. Winners get more than a trophy, too: past winners talk about the industry validation and the lift it gives team morale and brand visibility.
Anna (Stickybeak's CEO) spent a day on The Grocer New Product Awards judging panel, working through entries across yoghurt, snacks, frozen desserts and spreads.
"Judging days like this are my favourite kind of research. You see the finished product, but what really separates the entries is the thinking behind them: how clearly a brand understands its consumers, what they actually want, and why. The teams who could show that thinking had submissions that stood out a mile.
And after a day spent surrounded by yoghurt, frozen desserts and spreads on one of London's hottest days, I'll admit the fans in the judging room might have been my personal favourite product of the day. Sometimes the simplest things make the biggest difference."
A few Stickybeak customers picked up medals at the 2025 awards: Ritter Sport took the Chocolate Champion title, Little Freddie won Gold in Infant & Children Food, and Unrooted won Gold in Soft Drinks. Good company to be sponsoring.
This year's food and drink finalists have just been announced, you can see the full shortlist here. Household and personal care finalists are still to come, and Champion, Gold, Silver and Bronze medals get handed out at the awards lunch on Friday 16 October at The Hilton, Park Lane, London.
Anna's read on the entries lines up with what we see every day at Stickybeak: consumer feedback is central to developing products people actually love. The strongest entries weren't necessarily the flashiest; they were the ones that could clearly show their thinking, backed by real consumer input.
Supporting new products is what we do every day. From ideation to launch, onto the shelf, and (the real test) into the shopping basket. So when the chance came up to sponsor The Grocer New Product Awards, it was an easy yes.
We love working with the teams behind the products we test, day in and day out. Sponsoring these awards is another chance to celebrate great products and the people behind them.
